Hello! I'm Kathleen.
First, a little bit about me. I was born and raised in Iowa, have always been active in athletics, and I believe in family, faith, and hard work. I pursued and completed a BS and an MS in nutrition/dietetics due to my interest in medicine, sports, and in an attempt to fix my own chronic health problems.
I had suffered from abdominal pain, bloating, and fatigue since childhood, and after years of doctor's visits, tests, and diets, nothing seemed to help. I would not accept this suboptimal way of living, and am happy to say, I have now completely recovered and reversed my underlying illnesses. This is why I am empathetic and so passionate about helping others!
I believe that putting evidenced-based practice into action is the key to maximizing health. I have had the opportunity to work with thousands of patients in several different areas of dietetics for over a decade, and this has given me a very unique perspective.
As a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist, Certified Nutrition Support Clinician, and Certified Leap Therapist, I use tools that go far beyond food changes. The programs I have designed address the physiologic principles of health, and this is why my patients and clients are able to recover and live their best lives. Changes are best adhered to when minimum effort is required for maximum health benefit.
